22-171. Maple sugar mold in the form of a Witch’s Heart. It is carved from hard wood, likely oak, and measures 5.75” long x 3.5” wide x 1” thick. Constructed of two slices of wood which are nailed together. The floor of the mold is marked “M A”. It is from New England, likely New Hampshire, and dates to the mid-19th century. It has a beautiful deep, dark patina.
