22-040. Paint decorated hanging candle box marked “C. H. K. 1886” with wooden pin and nail construction. Faux marble sponge paint decoration. Lid with sailboat painted scene with sponged floral accents. Arch top hanger handle and single board back. The piece measures 17.5” x 9” x 3.25”. Ca. 1886, probably Continental. Condition: very good with minor paint loss and minor repair to lid.
