This rare, c1800 waffle iron features an eagle as seen in the United States shield below 16 stars. The image is cast into two 5 1/2" iron "plates" that have FS&D embossed on the reverse. Each plate is attached to a forged iron handle that is about 25" long. The handles are hinged above the plates with a forged iron rivet and held together at the top with a forged iron loop. There is some minor rust, but the image and desirability of the piece is unaffected. Provenance ex. Clark Garrett
