A coned base, a seven sided elongated sphere, another coned section with a flat tin star all hand made with soldered seams and original dry red paint. Some minor paint loss due to weather but not rusted. Custom made by a skilled artisan. C. 1940-1950 This was found originally about 35 yrs. ago in central Wisconsin and has been in a folk art collection ever since then. Farmers in the Midwest economically could not afford copper weathervanes at this time of history due to the depression. 27” h. X 27” w.(A contemporary wooden stand is included)
