23-074. A naïve pencil and watercolor drawing of a soldier, playing a bugle, while mounted on a horse. Painted in vibrant colors of blues, grays, yellows, and cream. The work was done on a piece of lined composition book paper. In both of the upper left and right corners it is marked “No 34”. The back of the piece is marked “T. S. Krause, The Trumpeter, Jan. 10 1866”. It is mounted in a period frame made of a softwood, with a dark red /brown wash, and measures 9.24” x 6.25”.
