This is a very cool item. It is a vintage late 19th C Canary cage. These were used in the California gold mines to detect toxic gasses. And, of course, in the home, especially for children who could care for them. It has a great green color that is old. It has two feeder holes and a painted porcelain water bowl. The door raises to feed or remove the canary. Excellent condition as shown. The cage measures 8 1/2"L X 6"W X 7"H. Very uncommon to find, especially in this condition.
