African American Painting in the Manner of J. Ball

A Late 19th or early 20th century oil on canvas painting titled "The Tangled Ball of Yarn". This black Americana painting depicts a motherly African American seated with young child untangling a ball of yarn. We are selling this painting as being done in the manner of J. Ball. It is possible that it is the original painting from which the late 19th or early 20th century prints were made as there is an uncanny similarity between this painting and those early prints. Our conservator has professionally cleaned and restored the painting and believes it to be of the aforementioned period. Unfortunately, the painting is unsigned. It measure 12" x 9" by sight and 19.25" x 16" framed.
