24-248. Rare Bird Cage Candlestick (Mid-18th Century, Likely French). Designed for stable use to minimize fire risk, this uncommon candlestick features a tripod cast iron base, a wrought iron cage, and a sliding candle socket. It includes six rods, a carrying hook, and an adjustable looped strip for socket height. Made of cast and wrought iron with a wrought sheet iron drip ring and finger hook. Measures approximately 8.75” H × 4” W. In excellent condition. A rare find, with more common versions made of tin and wire on a wooden base.
