This is a uncommon steel engraving of old Christmas done by Thomas Nast in 1878. It is the real deal.. original and antique. This illustration comes from his time as a major illustrator for Harper Bros. and the Christmas time series he did for them from the 1860s into the 1880s. Thomas Nast was a famous controversial, political cartoonist. The condition of the print is very good. The piece framed is 30" X 23". By itself, it image is 22" X 15 1/2." The matting has some foxing. An uncommon find for the holidays. It was purchased from the very prominent firm of Lyon's LTD Antique Prints in the 1990's. Merry Christmas. Prefer to ship just engraving
