This is a very folksy weathervane representing a jockey on his steed. The paint is quite wonderful with different layers showing. The metal is substantial, showing only surface wear. The vane is sitting on a porcelain over iron drugstore fountain stool post which is for presentation. This very cool figural weather directional measures 54 1/4"H X 35 1/2" wide. This vane is from the period of1900 to 1920s This piece came from an early equestrian training facility on the San francisco Peninsula, California. Great item!
