This is a beautiful, early trammel; used in the early fireplaces to heat various kettles and pots and differing heights. The smithing work is some of the best I have seen and the large rings and catches are unusually bold. The rings are all graduated. This ironwork would have been done by a master craftsperson. It is large, measuring 66." The decorative split work is 10"H. The links are a large as 8 1/2." It you are a collector this is a great one. More images upon request. Probably the best one I have seen.
