This is a hard one to find if you are a collector. It is marked Fox & Mays, S Hall, Patent. It is circa 1860s. It is mechanical. You press on a button and the ears extend for your needs. And, a drop down bar comes out for your support while putting on your boot. It is made from cast iron and the condition is very good. it measures 6 1/2"L X 2 3/4"W when closed and opens to 9 1/2" or in-between with the ears extended. Great item!
