This early five finger pantry box has the fingers, lid and bottom boards are secured with brass or copper tacks. There has been considerable age related shrinkage and breaks to the top board and lid finger. As a result, there are several areas of the lid finger where the wood has been lost to time. The most significant loss can be seen in the second photo. That said, the top board is still firmly attached to the finger wall and the lid fits snugly. There are no apologies for the bottom portion of the box. The finish is a warm naturally aged patina.
