25-086. A stone ware grease lamp from the Southern U. S. Made from a tan colored clay, with a cup shaped reservoir, two burner lips, applied handle, heavy stem, saucer shaped base, all with a dark brown matte glaze. It measures approximately 6.25” high x 5.25” diameter. This is a well-made example of a potter’s craft. In excellent original condition, without damage or repairs. The lamp was found in Ohio, and dates from the early to mid-19th century.
