Late 19th C Wood Barbers Trade Sign Great Paint

The round, red & white striped pole; symbol of the barber in America. This is an unusual one, it's short by intention. All wood. On each end there are brass covered open holes where the pole could spin on a holder. This piece is in very good condition. There is an age crack as shown, kinda nice. And, the paint is original with nice wear and patina. It measures 38" H and the ball is 8 " in diameter. This piece from the Gold Country in California.
