Sommet 6” Hen On A Nest Chocolate Mold

This chocolate mold was made in France by Sommet. It is their mold number 1305. In addition to Sommet’s dancing dolphin logo, it is marked France and 1 l 1/4. The hen is approximately 6” tall and 7 1/2” from breast tail. It is a three dimensional mold and measures 5” from side to side. The base has a handle soldered to it and is approximately 4” x 5 1/2”. It is possible to use this mold as an ice cream mold as well as a chocolate mold. Sommet was in business from 1882 to 1962 making this mold at least 60 years old. It retains what are likely to be the original clamps that all hold the sides close together. Th bottom fits tight to the mold. Over the years, it has tarnished and picked up a few scratches and rust from age, use and storage.
