Price: $2,200
Sold by Phillips and Durkin Antiques
25-169. A wooden Gothic-form barn lantern featuring four glazed panels and an internal wooden lift-rod used to raise the candle socket for lighting or extinguishing the flame. This rare example combines an uncommon architectural profile with an equally unusual candle-raising mechanism. Crafted in a hardwood—likely oak or chestnut—it shows a rich, well-developed patina and remains in very good condition. Approximately 6.25" square and 9.5" high. American, probably New England, dating to the early–mid 19th century.
