25-157. A superb and highly unusual Pennsylvania redware fat lamp. In an almost black manganese glaze. It has a round stepped nearly urn shaped font with a curved spout which forms a wick support. There is an applied handle and ringed stem. It all sits on a domed, stepped base. The lamp measures approximately 7.75” high x 4” diameter. Minor spots of missed glaze, otherwise in excellent condition. Ca. early to mid-19th century. [Provenance: Collection Dr. & Mrs. Donald Shelly].
