This novelty cigarette box / dispenser is made of sheet metal and brass. When the lever is pushed, the herron dips down into the box, opens its beak and retrieves a cigarette. The metal frame has a rough finish so as to serve as a striker. Burnt matches may then deposited in the clowns mouth The dispenser was made in London England around 1910. The bottom is stamped with a provisional patent number and a notice that patents have been applied for in England and all principle countries
