26-088. A small, horseshoe form, coin silver tinder box, with a wrought iron surround for sparking flint. The hinged lid opens to house a flint and tinder. The box measures approximately 1 ¾ inches ling x 1 5/8 inches wide. A fine pocket piece for fire starting and a very unusual example at that. American, in very good condition with out and damage or repairs and dating from the early-19th century.
