Such a nice example of a mid to late 19th. century scrub box. The scrub box is a square shaped rimmed box with a wedge secured right in the center. The scrub box has its original worn and well scrubbed surface. The scrub box measures 10 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches. I love this box for its form and ability to use it as a scrub box or a tray to display or hold fruit etc. the Box is American and has a wonderful look with square nailed construction.
