11 1/8" x 7 1/16" x 4 1/2"; Nailed construction; Chamfered lid has a hand chiseled finger slot. A 5 5/8" long piece of wood has broken away from the interior edge of one side board. The break does not iaffecvt the top board and the top slides freely. The bottom board has some old insect damage and a few shrinkage cracks running in from one end. The longest of these extends about 1 3/4" into the bottom board. Both the top and bottom boards have a minor paint spots that do not detract from the overall appearance. c1900
