Water color of Lady Columbia surrounded by a floral wreath. Signed along the bottom edge W. B. Rice O. V. I. Nashville, Tenn 1863. William B. Rice enlisted as a private in Company B, 101st Ohio Volunteer Infantry on July 29, 1862. The 101st was assigned to the Union Army of the Cumberland in January 1863. Corporal Rice was detailed to headquarters as a clerk on January 19, 1863 and promoted to sergeant on January 25, 1863. He was mustered out in Nashville on June 10, 1865. The painting is matted and housed in an age appropriate frame; 6 1/2" x 8" sight; 10 1/4" x 12 1/4" framed. It has not been examined out of the frame
