A late 18th c. soap holder in original as-descended surface. Constructed of Pine wood with a tapered body featuring hand carved cyma recta moldings applied to two sides. The pieced body is joined with a series of early iron nails now heavily oxidized. New England. circa. 1790-1820. The soap dish measures 6 x 3 3/4 x 3 inches. Excellent condition with a desirable color and surface qualities.
