A fabulous piece of early American lighting. This is an exceptional piece with all of the makings of being American, straight out of New England. The floor light is circa 1840-1860. The condition is excellent and the floor light is all original and has a wonderful dark brown/red painted surface. The floor light has the platform base that sits up on three legs, the shaft is threaded and the cross bar holds two candle cups. The floor light stands 31 inches tall and the cross bar measures 11 inches. This is an exceptional piece. On the bottom of the light there is a paper, glued on sticker typical from the 1950’s era and it reads Mrs. Kathryn Missemer Weil, 25 Charlotte St, Manheim, Pa.
