23-095. A small ink and watercolor portrait of a young boy, rendered in a naïve hand. Executed in watercolor and pencil on hand-laid paper, the child is depicted wearing a blue caped outfit with a white collar, black bow tie, and black waist sash. He has short, wispy light-brown hair. The reverse is inscribed “Edward”, followed by surname “Stuart (?)”, and dated 1839. Housed in its original period frame measuring 5.25" x 5.25". Overall in very nice condition.
