26-104. American School. Watercolor portrait of a young boy standing in profile, circa 1865. Depicted wearing a gray-blue dress with military-inspired double-breasted bodice, long sleeves, and gathered skirt over embroidered pantalettes, and holding a buggy whip in his hand. Watercolor and pencil on paper in a period burl walnut veneered frame, measuring approximately 7 ¾ inches x 6 inches. The work is in very good condition with even toning and with no tears, holes or other damage.
