18th. century Folding Fragment Mirror

This is an absolutely wonderful piece. A fragment mirror from the late 18th. to very early 19th. century. The piece is just fabulous. It is a folding fragment mirror. Appears to be a hard wood case, perhaps Maple. The top wooden piece is hinged to the bottom piece that contains the fragment mirror. There is a small ring and pin that was used to secure the mirror when closed. The mirror itself is framed in but please note that one of the rails is missing and has been gone for some time. There are traces of original Black paint on both the front and back. The mirror when closed measures 3 3/4 x 5 3/8 inches. When open it measures 5 3/4 x 4 inches and the mirror itself measures 3 x 4 1/2 inches. Given the age and use the mirror is in excellent condition. American fragment mirror from the late 18th to early 19th. century.
