Just an amazing survivor from the late 18th. to early 19th. century is this wonderful double well, tombstone shaped, Red painted wall box. The size, surface and construction are the best. Quite a stately piece with a prominent Tombstone back board. The wall box is constructed with with rosehead and square nails. The surface is perfection, dry, worn and mottled (it is a piece of art). The size of the box adds to it presence, it measures19 3/4 inches tall and 12 1/2 inches wide. I love the depth of the box being only 4 inches. Please note where some wood chards are splintered off on the front side where the front plates are attached. It is wear but expected wear for a box of this age. The box is sound and usable.
