18th c English Ferrier's Buttress with bells
Price: 695
Sold by Dater House & Friends Antiques
Rare and ornate Ferrier's tool. A Buttress was used to trim a horse's hooves. Note the hoof of a horse as a decoration on the tool. It has has bells on the end with horse shoes. I believe the purpose of the bells was for training the horses. One other is known to exist in the Museum of English Rural Life, University of Reading in England. Measures 12" long.
