Early 18th century adjustable Betty lamp/Whale oil lamp on an unusual shoe footed stand. The lamp is in its original black paint. Excellent condition with no cracks or repairs. Nice shoe foot stand typical of Vermont design from that period. Original black paint and the forged rivet construction matches the bottom of the stand and the bottom of the lamp. Excellent addition to your early lighting collection. The lamp measures 16” tall and the drip tray foot measures 7 x 4 inches. Notice the sweet delicate oval penny feet. This is a stunning piece.
