An 18th. century ball footed bible/document/table box. The box has the best original dry, Red painted surface. The case is dovetailed and has the best original turned bun feet. The box is most likely New England and is circa 1740-1780 and is made of Poplar and Pine. The lid is original and has its original snipe hinges. The surface is all original with expected typical losses, stains, it is original and untouched. One repair of note is, the top front applied half round molding on the lid was professional restored. The original lock is missing and the one on the box dates to the early 19th. century. The box measures 19 inches wide, 11 1/2 inches deep and 11 1/2 inches high.
