A wonderful example of an American pipe box. This pipe box has its original red painted surface, great form and construction. Slender and tall to hold the long Worden pipes. Simple in style but loaded with character and form. At the base of the pipe box is a small drawer for pipe essentials. The drawer is dovetailed and has its original knob. The pipe box is constructed with square nails. The box measures 17 1/2 x 4 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches. Circa 1840-1860. American Pipe Box.
