This is quite a nice, mid 19th. century, red painted trencher. The trencher has a lovely, traditional shape, heavy bodied and it retains it original Red painted surface. I believe the wood in Maple and the trencher has a smooth finish from years of use. The trencher measures 21 x 10 1/2 x4 1/2 inches deep. The condition is excellent with only a small notch on the rim and the trencher comes with excellent provenance.
