A fabulous example of a Make-Do light. So primitive and warm. The light itself is made of pewter, wicked oil light. The light may have had a holder at some point in its life but during its life this wooden base was carved out in such a way that the pewter light would slide right into the base. The result is just simply a beautiful American Make-Do oil light. The oil light measures 5 x 4 3/4 x2 1/2 inches. Surface, patina and form are just striking. 19th. century, American Make-Do oil light.
