26-101. A Medieval pewter taper holder, standing only 2 ¼ inches high The single taper holder is in the form of a chalice with side candle ejection port, resting on a round platform base with simple circular ring decorations and a raised rim. It is all supported on 3 paw feet. This lovely, diminutive, little taper holder is in remarkedly good condition with just a few very small losses to the base. It is probably English and dates from circa 1000 to 1200 AD.
