This is a wonderful example of a Cage light. The light is late 18th century, Cage Light. The light has the original or very early Black painted surface. The candle cup holder is smaller that indicates an earlier age. The condition of the light is excellent. The light measures 9 3/4 inches tall and the base measures 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The design of the cage light is specifically designed for safety so that if the light were to fall over the candle would still be secured withing the cage. American lighting.
