My weakness for early lighting continues, just can’t pass up an interesting piece. This particular table light is made of light Pine wood and has its original painted surface in a dark Brown paint. The light has a retractable arm that extends and fold back as needed. The shaft is mortised into the X base. The table light measures 21 1/4 inches and the base measures 8 inches by 8 inches. Circa 1840’s-1860’s. The condition is excellent. This is a sweet and unusual piece of American lighting.
