This is a beautiful piece of wood. A wooden pipe case, made to hold the long Worden pipes. I believe the wood is Maple and please note that the clasp is signed E.J. The case measures 12 inches long. When I bought the case there was not pipe in it. It was hard to find one that fit so what I did was, I had an old pipe bowl that fit perfectly, I added to the length with another reproduction wooden piece and bonded them together. So it is sort of old but more importantly I think it completes the look. The wooden case is circa mid 19th. century.
