This large Mortar & Pestle retains a beautiful old red surface and dates to the 2nd quarter of the 19th Century. It measures 5" x 5 1/4" in diameter at the base and 8" tall. The pestle has a nice feel and is also slightly out of round from shrinkage over two centuries. There are two hairlines running vertically on the mortar, but overall, they are in fine condition.
