mustard painted pantry box

19th c. mustard paint over old red wash on this 6 3/4" by 3" tall pantry box. This box has been in my collection for over 40 years. It is washed in red on the inside of the lid and on the interior sides of the box itself. There is a compass etched on the interior of the lid. A small crack on the lid's band has been mended years ago and does not affect the box in any way. Additional pictures are available upon request. Thank you for looking.
