Past Pieces Antiques & Primitives
I love antiques and primitives! I sell at flea markets, antique shows and out of my home. I have a special affinity for items relating to textiles and weaving, tape loom weaving in particular! My love of history sparked my interest in collecting antiques. You can learn so much from these wonderful treasures! I will be offering items from my own collection as well as special finds from markets, auctions and picker trips throughout Pennsylvania and the northeast. I accept payment by personal check, money order and PayPal. For payment by check, I will need to wait a few days until the check clears. Shipping is NOT reflected in the advertised price. I can ship to you, with some larger items available for pickup if you wish. I charge only the exact cost of shipping, including insurance. If you would like extra photos I will be happy to send them upon request! I also like vintage and the odd and unusual find. Please feel free to visit my site at https://1218dorset.wixsite.com/pastpieces for more interesting and unique items. Feel free to call, email or text me with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you!
An early, mahogany veneer tape loom with a pull-out drawer with 12 thread drawers. I was told this could possibly be an early English Trim Loom but I could not find any verifying documentation. Each drawer has a hole in the lid that allows the thread to be pulled out. The 12 place thread drawer is finely dovetailed at each end. The bottom of the loom shows that it was mounted on a stand of some kind at one time. The white decorative balls seen on the top surface appear to be bleached bone. The loom measures about 14 inches high, 15 1/2” long and 7 3/8” wide. Extra photos available upon request.
Beautiful primitive tape loom with hand forged hardware. Unique squirrel cage warp reel. Purchased in Maine. 18” long, 16” high, 8 1/2” wide. Complete and functional. Loom is very substantial, built like a tank! Extra photos on request.
Vintage sign estimated to be from 1940s or 1950s. Some paint chipping, discoloration and surface staining. Measures 24” by 18”. Heavy steel. Additional photos upon request.
Antique coverlet signed by John Welty of Boonsboro in Washington County Maryland. This one has some wear and some staining. Imperfections. Still displays beautifully. Welty coverlets are becoming difficult to find. No strange odors, just an ‘old’ smell! It was dated but looks like the date was cut off the loom. Looks like 1840? Measure approximate 84” x 69”. Additional photos upon request.
Lovely sewing box estimated to be from first quarter of the 1800s. Missing a key. Latch is not attached to the box, but I have it and buyer can reattach if they please. Some of the sewing equipment is missing. A piece of the scissor compartment is detached but present and will be included with the box. Surface veneer is not perfect but perhaps normal for a box of this age? Makers Tag in one compartment says: R. Ackermann’s Repository of Arts, 101 Strand, London. Comes with a variety of sewing tools. Additional photos upon request!
Cute little souvenir from the famous old Ship Hotel on Lincoln Highway Route 30 in Pennsylvania. Additional Photos upon request.
A very pretty and unique old wooden perfume bottle box. Origin India. Hand crafted with very decorative and pretty brass wire inlay work. Mirror inside lid and removable tray which fits four old glass perfume bottles. The bottles include stoppers. I believe one of the stoppers is original but the others look like they are replacements. Good condition and a rich patina. Measures approximately 5 1/4” L x 3 1/2” D x 4 7/8” W.
