For sale is a very sweet small size Noah's Ark with 10 animals that I acquired from New Jersey. It is most likely German, and there are 4 what I believe are pairs of animals, and 2 singles. The ark has a hinged lid for storing the animals, and there are applied windows and doors. The animals are flat and are carved from wood. The ark measures about 11 1/2" long, 9" tall, and 4" wide, and the animals range in size from about 1 3/4" to 3" tall. The set is in nice, but antique condition, with minor wear on the ark, and the animals exhibiting more wear, with some having a tiny bit of newspaper attached to them from storage. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a wonderful antique fairly small size primitive basket in old, possibly original pumpkin paint. I acquired it in Pennsylvania a year or 2 ago, and I think that it was most likely made there as well. The basket has been woven with fairly wide splints, and the bottom is square. It measures about 8" long and 7 1/4" wide on the top, 6 1/4" square on the bottom, and 9 1/4" tall including the handle. It is in nice antique condition, with expected wear to the painted surface, a dark patina and surface dirt on the interior, and a bit of minor loss to the corners on the bottom. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is what I believe is a rare antique miniature that is the earliest that I have ever found. It is dated January 29, 1749, and is signed "Sarah Peace her Sampler", and it also says "Sara Peace 1749" on the right hand side in the middle. I don't know if it is American or English, but it is done primarily using red silk thread on what I believe is homespun linen. In addition to numbers and the alphabet, there is a religious poem that I have been mostly able to decipher, although there are a few words that I haven't been able to figure out. The sampler has been framed by sandwiching it between 2 pieces of glass, and placing it in a lemon gilt frame. The framed piece measures about 10 3/4" x 8 3/4" with sight measurements of 9 3/4" x 7 3/4". The sampler itself is about 7 3/4" x 6 1/2", and is in antique condition, with areas of minor loss, primarily along the edges, as well as a few early repairs. Still, such an early sampler would be a great addition to any sampler collection. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a great old primitive bail handle bucket in chrome yellow paint that I acquired on a recent trip to Nashville and the Midwest. The paint is definitely old, possibly original, although I don't know for sure. The bucket measures about 9" tall not including the handle, 11" in diameter on the top, and 9" in diameter on the bottom, and the handle rises about 7" when fully upright. It is in nice antique condition, with signs of age and use, but no significant flaws, although I don't know whether or not it had a lid at one time. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a very sweet pair of vintage folk art chicken pot holders that I found at an antique store in my area. They are made of a tiny red and white checked cotton, and have red crocheted combs, as well as French knot eyes. However, what makes them a bit more special is the fact that they are heart shaped. I believe that the pair is filled with cotton, and there are round plastic rings for display. Each one measures about 7" long, 6 1/2" wide, and 1 1/2" tall, and both are in near mint condition, not really appearing to have ever been used. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a really charming antique, most likely early 1900's newborn size crib quilt, or more accurately bedcover that has 11 different images of young children, as well as one image of an elderly woman in a rocking chair. The images are all hand embroidered on linen, mostly in red and blue, as well as a bit of sort of silvery white, light blue, and yellow. On the back is the name "Gladys", and I assume that was the name of the recipient, although I suppose it could the maker's. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

I believe that it is completely hand sewn using a tan wool fabric, has mismatched button eyes, a naively embroidered comb, and it feels like it is stuffed with rags, although I suppose it could also be raw cotton. The piece measures about 9 3/4" tall, 7 1/2" long beak to tail, and 2 1/4" wide from its chest. It is in nice antique condition, with signs of age, but no significant issues. He is primarily machine sewn using a brown striped wool, has pearly white button eyes, and is stuffed with cotton. For sale is a fabulous vintage, possibly antique, brass Dresden wreath that I acquired in Nampa, Idaho, recently. It has more images on it than any that I have ever seen including Christmas, Easter, Halloween, and Valentine's Day designs, as well as many different animals including buffalo, lions, bears, and more. I am unsure if it is an original made in Germany in the late 1800's to early 1900's, or if it was made in France in the 1970's-80's, but either way it is wonderful. The wreath measures about 14 1/2" in diameter, and is in nice vintage/antique condition, with nothing missing or any signs of repair. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a fabulous antique 19th century red and brown faux painted spice box that I acquired from Canada, and it was most likely made there as well. For sale is a fabulous and rather unusual antique 19th century Pennsylvania primitive folk art slaw board or kraut cutter with a scalloped crest. It appears to be painted a very dark red almost brown, rather than being stained, and it has a single blade. It also appears to be constructed with hand cut nails, although there has been a repair or 2 over the years done with round head nails. In addition, there is a large hole for hanging, as well as what looks like a plug below the hole, possibly where there was a knot hole that had to be filled in. The piece measures about 20 3/4" long, 8 1/2" wide, and 1 1/8" side to side, and is in nice, but antique condition, with nice signs of age and use including paint wear and rust, as well as the previously mentioned repairs. For sale is a wonderful antique sampler that I acquired from a sale in Pennsylvania, although I think that it might be English, as there is what looks like a crown at the bottom. I believe the sampler is done in silk thread on homespun linen. The piece is signed "Mary Gribbens's Sampler made in 1806", and there is a poem at the top that says "May I with innocence & peace, My fleeting moments spend, And when the tolls of life shall case (cease), With calmness meet my end." Elements of the design include birds, several types of flowers, trees, and what I think are sheep that are each inside a box at the bottom. It has a floral vine border, and is housed in a fairly modern black painted frame that makes a nice presentation. The framed sampler measures about 19 3/4" x 17 3/4" with sight measurements of 16 1/4" x 14 1/4". It is in very nice antique condition, with a tiny bit of leeching of the brown "F", and a tiny bit of damage along the top edge, barely noticeable, but mentioned for the sake of complete accuracy. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a wonderful antique lady's dress that I believe is made of brown homespun that I acquired a few years ago in Ohio. Approximate measurements are as follows: length - 61", waist - 27", bust - 35", neck opening - 6" across, sleeve length - 22", and sleeve opening - 4 1/2" across. The dress is in antique condition, with a few small holes and areas of repair, the most noticeable of which are on the elbow area of both sleeves. For sale is a fabulous antique 19th century folk art painted dome top box with birds flanking an urn with what I think is a fruit tree on the lid, and a swag design on the front that I acquired from a collection in Pennsylvania. There is a note inside indicating that it was purchased at the Jim Burke November 1989 York, PA., show, and that it is similar to Bucher boxes, however, according to the seller, it is thought to be French. I don't know for sure, but I would certainly lean towards a European origin. There is additional painted decoration on the sides, and the back and bottom are painted blue. There is a small wire handle on the top, wire hinges, and the original key and locking mechanism are still in place. (The key hangs on a piece of wire on the interior, and I didn't attempt to remove it.) In addition, it is lined with paper. The box measures about 15 5/8" long, 9 3/4" wide, and 9" tall, and is in nice antique condition, with expected paint wear, and a tight stable crack on the bottom, but it displays very well. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a naive antique, likely early to mid 19th century, unframed silk on linen sampler. I think that it is American, although I can't verify that so it could be English. There is a triangular border, and the same design divides the piece approximately in half. In addition, the sampler has been sewn onto an ecru cotton backing. The sampler measures about 20 3/4" x 15 1/2", and is in nice antique condition, with light toning, and holes in the corners, as well as 2 others in the middle on the right which aren't noticeable because of the fabric backing. For sale is an antique super primitive wood mallet that I found on a recent trip to the Midwest and East Coast. It is hand made, and has scribed lines on both the handle and head. It is primarily painted a lavender pink color, but there is a black stripe on the top. The piece measures about 11 3/4" long, and the head is about 2 1/2" in diameter. It is in well used primitive antique condition, with a fairly large area on the top of the head where wood is missing, as well as other signs of age. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions.

For sale is an antique folk art eagle butter print that I have had for quite awhile in my private collection. I think that it was probably made in Pennsylvania, but I can't completely verify that. The eagle has a shield chest, and is encircled with carved triangles. The piece has never had a handle, and measures about 3 5/8" in diameter and 1" thick, and is in nice antique condition, with an aged patina, as well as a few tiny chips and stress cracks. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions.

For sale is a charming very small size antique 19th century folk art pinprick watercolor, ink, and pencil depiction of a young girl holding flowers standing in the grass. It is housed in a black painted frame with a metal loop hanger. The framed piece measures about 4 3/4" x 3 3/4" with sight measurements of 3 7/8" x 2 7/8". The image itself is about 3" tall and 2" wide. The piece is in very nice antique condition, with no significant flaws. It should be noted that the frame is newer than the watercolor. For sale is a rare antique homespun table cover that has embroidery in one corner that says" Anno 1798, with what I believe is the maker's name, which looks to be Eastern European. The piece is trimmed in lace, and measures about 82" x 66". It is in very nice antique condition, with no holes, rips, noticeable stains, or repairs. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions.

For sale is a very sweet antique German birdcage pipsqueak that has 3 composition birds inside, one yellow, one, blue, and one red. This piece was previously in the collection of Curtis and Linda Smith. The birds are perched on what looks like some kind of dried plant, all with their wings outspread. The cage is made of thin wire and some type of natural straw or other fiber, and the bellows/squeaker is wood and paper. There is what looks like an inventory number on the bottom, as well as a sticker with remnants of writing on it. The pipsqueak measure about 6" tall and 2 3/4" in diameter on the bottom, and is in very nice antique working condition, although the squeak isn't really very loud. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions.

For sale is an antique handmade huswif/sewing silk rollup that I acquired in Pennsylvania, and that I am sure was made there as well. It is hand sewn, and has 8 pockets that are made of a nice variety of silk fabrics in pink, yellow, and blue, some of which are brocades. At the bottom there is a 6-layer semicircle for holding pins and needles. In addition, I looked at the interior of the piece, and it looks like the back has been reinforced with striped linen fabric, possibly homespun. There is also paper on the reverse side of each pocket. The sewing pocket measures about 20" long and 4 1/2" wide, and is in nice antique condition, with some fading on the back, and the felt has detached about 1" from the bottom of the pocket, an easy fix for the new owner. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a terrific antique ca. 1900 red and white quilt for a poster bed with appliqued flowers as well as a swag design around the perimeter. It is quilted in a variety of designs including stars, various types of leaves, flowers, as well as diagonal lines and small circles. It is filled with raw cotton, and you can see seeds when the quilt is held up to the light. The backing fabric is the same as the front, and at some point, a wide casing was added for display. The quilt measures about 78" x 72", and is in very nice antique condition, with a few very light stains, mainly on the back, and only mentioned for the sake of complete accuracy. There are no major issues. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions including requests for additional pictures.

For sale is a very sweet framed folk art scherenschnitte that depicts a bird tree. I think that it may have been made in Pennsylvania, but I can't completely verify that. The piece is signed "John Mahaffey", and is housed in an old gold painted frame. The framed piece measures about 8 5/8" x 6 7/8" with sight measurements of 7 5/8" x 5 7/8". For sale is a charming antique ca. 1840 painted silhouette of a girl holding a book. I was told that it was an unsigned Hubard piece. It is in a period walnut veneered frame with a metal hanger at the top. The framed piece measures about 9 3/4" x 7 1/2" with sight measurements of 7 1/2" x 5 1/4". The image itself is about 6" high and 3" wide. The piece is in very nice antique condition, with expected and appropriate signs of age, but no significant flaws. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions.

For sale is a wonderful antique German exotic bird pipsqueak/squeak toy in working condition that has been in my collection for a few years. The bird is made of composition covered in velvet, wool felt, real fur, and feathers, and sits on a wooden base with a paper bellows. The piece measures about 6 3/4" tall, the base is 5 1/2" long and 3" wide, and the bird itself is about 5 1/2" long. It is in nice antique working condition, although there are tears and repairs on the bellows. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions.

For sale is a wonderful antique 19th century folk art pantry/bandbox that I found in Ohio, but that was made in Pennsylvania. It is constructed with splints and wooden pegs. On both the lid and sides, there is a very stereotypical PA. Dutch style design of red tulips with yellow centers, and almost comma shaped leaves on the lid. The box measures about 17 1/2" long, 8 1/2" wide, and 5 3/4" tall, and is in nice but antique condition, with a dark aged patina, an area of missing wood on the top, as well as expected wear around the edges on both the lid and box. There is what looks like a crack on the lid, but I believe that 2 pieces of wood were used in its construction, as when you look on the inside, the line is very straight, and the grain doesn't quite match. In addition, there have been a few areas where nails have been added for reinforcement. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions.

For sale is a very nice antique folk art stumpwork 6 petal flower design table mat, or possibly small lap robe. Each block is completed on a variety of different fabrics, measures about 6 1/2" square, and there are 30 squares in total. The backing fabric is black wool flannel, I believe. The entire piece measures about 39 1/4" x 33", and is in very nice antique condition. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions.

For sale is a wonderful antique folk art watercolor fraktur bookplate with German writing and a sort of shield and tulip design at the bottom completed in red, yellow, green, and blue. I believe that it is most likely from Pennsylvania. It is dated January 26th, 1829, and has been placed on acid free backing. It is housed in an antique frame with a metal loop hanger, and measures about 9 1/8" x 6 3/8" with sight measurements of 7 1/8" x 4 3/8". The fraktur itself is about 6 1/4" x 3 3/4", and is in nice antique condition, with minor toning and stains, as well as minor wear around the edges. The frame is also in nice condition, and a new paper backing has been added. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions.

For sale is a wonderful antique dated 1838 watercolor fraktur bookplate with what I think is German writing, and a red and blue bird flanked by red and blue tulips at the bottom. I think that it is most likely from Pennsylvania, and has been placed on acid free backing, and housed in an antique frame. The framed piece measures about 9 5/8" x 7" with sight measurements of 7 5/8" x 5". The fraktur itself measures about 6 1/4" x 3 1/2", and is in antique but nice displayable condition, with minor toning and stains, as well as areas of damage around the edges. The frame is in good condition, and a new paper backing has been added. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions.
