For sale is a fabulous and very large size vintage (almost antique lol) dated 1927 folk art painted breadboard with the name "Charlotte Baumbach" above the year. It is painted a robin's egg blue with a polychrome floral wreath design. The piece measures a huge 26" in diameter, the handle is about 6 1/2" long, and it is 5/8" thick. It is in wonderful vintage/antique condition, wit some paint wear and surface dirt, as well as a bit of yellowing from the varnish, but no major issues. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a cute vintage miniature gathering basket that I acquired in Iowa. It measures a tiny 3" long, 2" wide, and 3 1/4" tall including the handle, and is in very nice condition, with a warm patina, but no breaks or other issues. Please look carefully at the pictures, and be sure to ask any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a wonderful primitive antique breadboard that is painted a robin's egg blue on one side. It has breadboard ends with large square nails, and measures about 27 1/2" long, 16" wide, and 3/4" thick. It is in nice, but definitely primitive condition, with an aged patina, paint wear, and oxidation around the nails. It should also be noted that although the paint is old, I'm not sure if it is original. It also be noted that the first picture is the most accurate as to the shade of blue on the board. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is an antique super primitive handmade round bread board that came from Virginia., On one side, it is painted oyster white over what I believe is the original green. The piece measures about 19 1/2" long including the handle, 14 1/2" wide, and 1 1/8" thick, and is in super primitive antique condition, with surface dirt, lots of craquelure, and other signs of age and use. For sale is a wonderful antique folk art scherenschnitte scissor cutting that depicts a pair of roosters that I acquired from a dealer in New York a few years ago. The piece is rather naively rendered, and only the bird on the right has penciled details. In addition, it looks like the piece was completed using paper that had another drawing at one time, as you can see the image of a bird's head below the rooster on the right's feet. The piece has been placed on a black background, and is housed in a period frame with the original metal loop hanger. It measures about 5 3/4" x4 3/4" with sight measurements of 3 3/4" x 2 3/4", and is in nice antique condition, with no issues other than ones previously mentioned that at least in my opinion, don't detract at all. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a very sweet antique folk art miniature reverse painting that depicts a very sad looking beagle that I acquired in Nashville a few months ago. I think that perhaps the dog is in mourning, as there is a vase with a single flower in it by his tail, as well as an image above the vase of which I have been unable to determine what exactly it is. It sort of looks like some type pf animal that might symbolize something, I just don't know. The painting is housed in what I believe is the original frame with a metal loop hanger, and measures about 5 7/8" x 4 7/8" with sight measurements of 4 1/8" x 3 1/8". It is in nice antique condition, although it was removed from the frame for examination, and a new paper backing was added. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a very sweet antique handmade brown wool plaid doll dress that I acquired on a recent trip to Pennsylvania, and I would think was most likely made there as well. It is both hand and treadle machine sewn, and has a 3 button closure on the back. Measurements are as follows: length - 15 1/2", waist - 5" across (10" total), neck opening - 2 1/2" across, sleeve length - 3 1/2", and sleeve opening -, 2 1/2" across (5" total). The dress is in very nice antique condition, with a bit of wear on the red collar, but no significant flaws. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos. It should be noted that the last photo depicts the dress turned inside out.

For sale is a wonderful antique firkin that I acquired recently. It is painted in a sort of PA. style decoration with hears, and stars in yellow, green, and red, over a creamy white. The paint is old, but I don't know if it is as old as the firkin itself. The insides of the bucket and lid are painted, but the bottom isn't. It measures about 9 1/2" in diameter on top, 10 1/4" in diameter on the bottom, and 9 3/4" tall not including the handle which adds an additional 4" or so when fully upright. The firkin is in nice antique condition, with lots of craquelure, age related wear, etc., but no really significant issues. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a rather unusual antique primitive firkin that I acquired recently. It is primarily painted brown, but the top of the lid is a teal color, and the name "Saratoga" is incised into it. That name may indicate its origin, although I don't know for sure. The paint appears to be old, but I don't know for sure if it is original. The bottom and interior are unpainted, and the piece measures about 9 1/2" in diameter on top, 10" in diameter on the bottom, and 9 1/2" tall not including the handle, which adds an additional 4" or so when fully upright. It is in nice antique condition, with expected signs of age and use, but no really significant issues. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a very sweet antique leaf design award of merit, along with a note written in German. I am not sure if they were always together, but that is the way I purchased the piece. Under the leaf design, it says, "To John F. Campbell, By G.H. Willow, Teacher". The 2 items are housed in a wonderful old antique frame with its original metal loop hanger, and the piece measures about 9" x 7 3/8" with sight measurements of 6 1/2" x 4 3/4". It is in nice antique condition, with minor signs of age, but no significant flaws. It should be noted that it was removed for examination, and we discovered that it was already mounted on acid free board, and of course, a new paper backing was added. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a very dear antique folk art oil painting on board of a young child with a bird perched on his/her right hand. There is a birdcage and chair behind the child, and it looks like the end of a sofa to the left. The painting appears to be in its original black painted frame with a gold gilt inner liner, and measures about 18" x 15 1/2" with sight measurements of 13 1/2" x 11". It is in nice antique condition, with some craquelure and other signs of age, and it should be noted that it was recently cleaned. The frame also exhibits age related minor wear. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a very dear antique folk art portrait of a puppy dog that was formerly in the collection of Vito Giallo, who was an artist and antiques dealer in New York City who had many well known clients. He passed away last year. The painting is oil on artist's board, and the little pup is holding a white rosebud in his mouth, with other white and red roses around him. The painting is housed in what I believe is the original lemon gilt frame, and measures about 14 1/4" x 11 3/4" with sight measurements of 11 1/4" x 8 3/4". It is in nice antique condition with expected signs of age, and it has been cleaned. The frame also shows age related wear. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a very sweet antique doll quilt that I acquired in Iowa. It is completely hand pieced, hand quilted, and hand bound in wonderful early fabrics cut into triangles, but I wouldn't call it a flying geese pattern. The border is a blue and white striped chambray, and the binding is solid red. I believe that the quilt is very thinly filled with cotton, and measures about 22' x 16 3/8". It is in nice antique condition, with light toning and one area of tiny black spots, but no holes, rips, or repairs. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a fabulous antique 19th century American folk art leather and velvet pin hanging pin cushion with a central multi-colored velvet heart flanked by birds that I acquired from a sale in Virginia. Pieces such as this are very hard to find. There are additional cutout areas done in red velvet for needles and pins, and a small hole in the top for hanging. The piece measures about 8 5/8" tall and 6 1/8" wide, and is in nice antique condition with signs of age and use, including a few small holes in the velvet but no major issues. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a very sweet and naive antique folk art endearment, possibly a memorial or love token that depicts several different flowers including a pansy, an iris, and lilies of the valley. It was done on ledger paper. There is an arch on the left with flowers and other images, and the letter "M" under it, and a heart shaped floral wreath on the right with what could be a butterfly sitting atop it and an "M" in the middle. In addition, the piece was removed from the frame for examination, and the last picture is of the back. The piece is housed in a nice old frame with a gold inner liner, and measures about 10" x 8" with sight measurements of 7" x 5". It is in nice antique condition, with overall light toning and a few spots. The frame shows minor age related wear. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is an antique folk art depiction of a young man courting a maiden by playing a stringed instrument, possibly a mandolin??? I acquired the piece in New Hampshire, and it is rendered on silk. The painting is housed in an appropriate period frame, and measures about 12 1/2" x 9 1/2" with sight measurements of 9 1/2" x 6 1/2". It is in nice antique condition, with toning and foxing, but no shredding, holes, rips, etc. The frame has an aged patina and minor wear. It should be noted that the painting was removed from the frame for inspection, and the last photo shows the back of the piece before the paper backing and wire hanger were replaced. My husband also placed the original framer's label back on as it originally was. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a wonderful pair of antique white crocheted socks that I believe are Amish wedding socks. I acquired them in Lancaster County, PA on a recent trip to the area. They are very nicely made, and each sock has the initials "F", completed in red. Each sock measures about 19 1/2" long, the foot is about 9" x 4", and the opening is about 5" across. The socks are in nice antique condition, with a tiny bit of toning, but no significant flaws. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a wonderful pair of antique white crocheted socks that I believe are Amish wedding socks. I acquired them in Lancaster County, PA on a recent trip to the area. They are very nicely made, and each sock has the initials "EAM", although I'm not sure that you can see them very well in the pictures. Each sock measures about 23" long, the foot is about 8 1/2" x 3 1/4", and the opening is about 5 3/4" across. The socks are in nice antique condition, with a tiny bit of toning, and one has a small hole near the top, but they display very nicely. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a terrific super primitive antique 19th century apple box that I acquired from a sale in Pennsylvania, and that was formerly in the collection of the late Ronald E. Hammer, who was from New Oxford, PA. It has square nail and hand dovetailed construction, and has wonderful turned feet. The piece measures about 8 7/8" square, and is 4 3/4" tall including the feet. It is in primitive antique condition, with a very dark aged patina, surface dirt and grime, a separation of the bottom from one side, and it looks like 2 of the feet are probably replacements. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a rather unusual antique folk art monochromatic depiction of 2 birds flanking a blooming rose with rosebuds between the birds, as well as butterflies below. The painting is housed in an old, possibly original, black painted frame, and measures about 11 3/4" x 9 3/4" with sight measurements of 8 3/4" x 6 3/4". It is in nice antique condition, with overall light toning, and some brown spots along the top, as well as a very light stain in the lower left corner, that at least in my opinion, don't detract from it at all. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a terrific antique primitive folk art footstool with a hooked top that I acquired on a recent trip to the Midwest, East Coast, and New England. The stool itself has bootjack legs and is painted black, and the hooked top has a pleasing floral design completed in red, green, blue, gray, and a bit of yellow on a black background. The footstool measures about 14" long, 8 1/2" wide, and 7 1/2" tall, and is in nice antique condition, with age and use evident on the paint, but no significant issues on the hooked top. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a charming vintage folk art twisted wire fruits and vegetables or bread basket with a heart design that I acquired on a recent trip to the Midwest, East Coast, and New England. It could possibly be French, but I certainly cannot verify that. It has a handle on each side, and measures about 11 1/2" long, 8 1/2" wide, and 4" tall not including the handles, which are each about 5 1/4" long and 3" tall. The basket is in nice vintage condition, with most of the original black paint still there but certainly showing age related wear and surface dirt, but no loose areas or other issues. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a charming antique, most likely European, folk art oil painting on artist's board that depicts a goatherd in a rather rocky area near water watching his goats, 5 in all. For sale is a very dear small size antique Pennsylvania folk art elephant stuffed toy that has been in my collection for a while. It is made of gray wool, has black glass bead eyes, and is stuffed with cotton. It measures about 4 1/2" long, 3 1/4" tall, and 2 1/4" wide from its back legs. It is in nice antique condition, with a couple of small repairs done in black thread, and in between the repairs you can see the cotton stuffing, although at least in my opinion, it doesn't detract from the toy's appeal. It should also be noted that it leans forward a bit, and it needs the trunk to hold it in an upright position. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

The underside of the shelf has a series of concentric circles, and is held in place from the back with 2 screws. The shelf measures about 10" long, 8" wide at its widest point, and 5 1/4" deep, and is in nice antique condition, with a dark aged patina, a tight stable crack on one of the match holders, as well as a bit of wood missing at the bottom of one of the horse's manes, which appears to have happened a long time ago, and isn't really noticeable. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a very dear antique handmade book form pin keep that I acquired in Pennsylvania that has a note about who made it and the year of 1857. The pin keep is made of a fabulous blue and brown print fabric, with green satin ribbons on one side, as well as layers of felt on the interior for holding pins and needles. For sale is a wonderful antique 19th century folk art cut and painted silhouette of a rather matronly woman that I acquired on a recent trip to the Midwest, East Coast, and New England. It is housed in what I believe is its original lemon gilt frame with the original eglomise glass that forms an oval around the image and has a rose in each corner. The original wire loop hanger is also still present. The framed piece measures about 5" x 4 1/4" with sight measurements of3 3/4" x 3". The image itself is about 3" x 1 1/4". It is in nice antique condition with a bit of wear on the eglomise design, as well as a crease in the glass when from when it was made. The frame shows expected age appropriate wear. In addition, the silhouette was removed from the frame for examination, and acid free cardboard was added before replacing the paper backing. For sale is a very sweet antique watercolor fraktur on lined paper that depicts 2 large blue and gray birds and 2 smaller yellow and blue birds perched on a bowl of fruit(?) flanked by red stars and pink flowers. This charming piece has been in my collection for several years, but it's time to find a new owner. In addition, there is writing in the lower right corner, but I can't quite make it out, but I think it is a signature. I think it was made in Pennsylvania, but I don't remember for sure. The painting is housed in a period veneer frame with its original wire loop hanger, and measures about 7 1/2" x 5 3/8" with sight measurements of 5 1/2" x 3 3/8". It has 8 hearts as well as other flourishes, and each heart has writing on it, all of which has been transcribed on the back. In addition, the information indicates that it was made by a woman named Maude Getz, who was born in Harrison County, Indiana in 1885. The image has been placed on a red background with scribed lines around the perimeter, and is housed in a vintage silver and black frame. The framed piece measures about 15 3/4" square with sight measurements of 13 1/2" square. The scherenschnitte itself is about 12 1/4" in diameter. For sale is an antique, likely late 18th to early 19th century burl veneer tea caddy that I acquired in Pennsylvania, although I think it is probably English. It is a sort of pyramid shape, and has mushroom button feet, as well as its original mother-of-pearl escutcheon and key, and the lock is in working condition. The piece measures about 5" tall, 7 3/8" long, and 4 1/8" wide, and is in nice antique condition, with signs of age and use, including a bit of warping causing the lid to not quite fit flat next to the box. In addition, 2 of the feet might be old replacements, as 2 of the feet have old screws to attach to the bottom, while the other 2 don't. Still, it is worthy of collection and display. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.

For sale is a very endearing antique folk art memorial painting that I acquired in Iowa recently. The central gravestone is flanked by a weeping willow on the right, and possibly a locust tree on the left, and there are 4 negative space silhouettes that face the grave, and each is numbered 1-4. Below the image are several areas of writing, including the year 1892 and the name Eliza R. Stone. To the left of the name, it says "painted by", but I'm not sure what it says to the left of the year. In addition, on the right, it says "4 facer". The piece is housed in a period frame with a metal loop hanger, and measures about 6" x 5", with sight measurements of 4 1/4" x 3 1/4". It is in nice antique condition, with toning, and a couple of creases, and the frame has expected wear, but no significant flaws, and it retains the original old glass. It should be noted that the painting was removed from the frame for examination, and the image was glued down to cardboard, so it couldn't be removed. The paper backing is a new replacement. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a fabulous antique folk art fraktur on lined paper that depicts a rather fanciful bird that I acquired at an outdoor market in Pennsylvania, and that I believe may have been made there as well, although I'm not completely positive. The bird sits on a branch with other flora to its left, and the name "Rebecca, D, Yohe, Born April 5, 1871. The piece was removed for examination and to add acid free backing and writing on the back says "(Given name) Mabel Shaley, Baby born Sept the 21, 1890." I am not sure of the connection, if any, between that information and the fraktur itself. The piece is housed in a nice antique frame with the original glass, and that is how I purchased it. The framed piece measures about 13" x 11", with sight measurements of 9 1/2" x 7 1/2". The bird itself is about 4 1/2" long. The fraktur is in nice antique condition, with some toning and a few spots, as well as folds, possibly indicating that it was stored in a book. The frame also shows age, but no significant issues, and of course, the paper backing and wire hanger are new replacements. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a terrific antique miniature basket in old green and yellow paint that I acquired in Iowa recently. The paint is old, but not original, as you can see layers of other colors in a few places. The toy measures about 13" tall, 14" long, and 6 1/2" wide wheel to wheel. For sale is what I believe is a rare antique miniature that is the earliest that I have ever found. It is dated January 29, 1749, and is signed "Sarah Peace her Sampler", and it also says "Sara Peace 1749" on the right hand side in the middle. I don't know if it is American or English, but it is done primarily using red silk thread on what I believe is homespun linen. In addition to numbers and the alphabet, there is a religious poem that I have been mostly able to decipher, although there are a few words that I haven't been able to figure out. The sampler has been framed by sandwiching it between 2 pieces of glass, and placing it in a lemon gilt frame. The framed piece measures about 10 3/4" x 8 3/4" with sight measurements of 9 3/4" x 7 3/4". The sampler itself is about 7 3/4" x 6 1/2", and is in antique condition, with areas of minor loss, primarily along the edges, as well as a few early repairs. Still, such an early sampler would be a great addition to any sampler collection. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a wonderful antique sampler that I acquired from a sale in Pennsylvania, although I think that it might be English, as there is what looks like a crown at the bottom. I believe the sampler is done in silk thread on homespun linen. The piece is signed "Mary Gribbens's Sampler made in 1806", and there is a poem at the top that says "May I with innocence & peace, My fleeting moments spend, And when the tolls of life shall case (cease), With calmness meet my end." Elements of the design include birds, several types of flowers, trees, and what I think are sheep that are each inside a box at the bottom. It has a floral vine border, and is housed in a fairly modern black painted frame that makes a nice presentation. The framed sampler measures about 19 3/4" x 17 3/4" with sight measurements of 16 1/4" x 14 1/4". For sale is a wonderful antique lady's dress that I believe is made of brown homespun that I acquired a few years ago in Ohio. Approximate measurements are as follows: length - 61", waist - 27", bust - 35", neck opening - 6" across, sleeve length - 22", and sleeve opening - 4 1/2" across. The dress is in antique condition, with a few small holes and areas of repair, the most noticeable of which are on the elbow area of both sleeves. For sale is a fabulous antique handmade folk art 2 tier sewing stand that I acquired from a sale in New York state. It is completed in an inlaid harlequin design, has 10 acorn finials of various sizes, the smallest of which are probably for holding thimbles, as well as 2 pin cushions made of 3 different fabrics in brown, gray, and cream. It has porcelain knobs on the drawers, and the drawers are hand dovetailed. In addition, the top lifts off for storing sewing items, and the top is held in place with tiny little latches. There are additional applied decorative elements, and there is a scalloped skirt on 3 sides, with the back completed in a reverse scallop design. In addition, there are 3 holes in the front that are made of bone, I believe, and the middle one is enhanced with abalone or mother of pearl. The sewing stand measures about 9" tall, 11 1/4" long, and 8 3/4" wide, and is in nice, but antique condition, with surface wear and other signs of use, but no really significant flaws. The woman appears to be wearing a lace bonnet, and although it is hard to see in the pictures, details of her clothing have been painted on in a shiny black over the flat black of the image. On the back, there is a label with what looks like an inventory number, which is also written on the wood. The piece is housed in what I believe is the original oval frame with its original glass, and measures about 5" tall and 4 1/8" wide. It is in very nice antique condition. with nice signs of age, but no significant flaws. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

The box is constructed in the traditional way, with thin wooden strips used to hold both the box and lid together, as well as wooden pegs. The piece measures about 15 3/8" long, 9 1/2" wide, and 6 3/8" tall. For sale is a very nice and rather unusual vintage, possibly antique, handmade folk art 6-drawer spice chest that I acquired from a sale in Pennsylvania, and that I'm sure was made there as well. It is made of pine, and primarily stained dark, but the nicely scalloped top and the framing around the drawers is painted gold, which I have never seen before, and it appears to be old, if not original. In addition, In the middle of the top, there is an incised circle that looks like the sun, or possibly a sunflower. All of the drawer pulls are hand carved wood, and I think that the drawers are mortised. The piece measures about 12 5/8" tall, 7 7/8" wide, and 3 1/2" deep, and is in nice vintage/antique condition, with nice signs of age, including some filler or glue on the back, but it displays very well. For sale is a wonderful unframed antique, early to mid 19th century silk on linen sampler that I acquired in Indiana. I think that it is English, although it could be American. There are urns of flowers, trees, dogs, birds, and a single peacock above the apple tree, in addition to other images, as well as an intricate border. A cotton backing has been applied to protect the sampler. It measures about 16 1/2" 13 1/4", and is in nice antique condition, with overall toning, as well as evidence that it was framed in a previous life. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a naive antique, likely early to mid 19th century, unframed silk on linen sampler. I think that it is American, although I can't verify that so it could be English. There is a large house at the top flanked by trees and single flower stems, with the alphabet below that is flanked by urns of what I think are flowers. Below is a large urn of tulips, flanked by baskets or possibly urns that have single stem flowers, as well as 2 more urns of flowers, tiny trees, what look like very stylized single tulips, and 2 tiny what I believe are rabbits. The tiny trees and rabbits are a tan/light brown on the left, and almost the same color as the linen on the right, which makes them almost blend in. There is a triangular border, and the same design divides the piece approximately in half. In addition, the sampler has been sewn onto an ecru cotton backing. The sampler measures about 20 3/4" x 15 1/2", and is in nice antique condition, with light toning, and holes in the corners, as well as 2 others in the middle on the right which aren't noticeable because of the fabric backing. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a charming antique dated 1857 folk art watercolor portrait of a young boy dressed in red pulling his horse pull toy. In addition to the date, the painting is signed "W. Hopkines". In addition, it is housed in a nice old frame with a metal loop hanger at the top. The framed painting measures about 9" x 8 1/2", with sight measurements of 6 1/4" x 5 3/4". It is in antique condition, with overall toning and a few spots, a small tear in the upper right corner, and it appears that it was folded at one time before it was framed, but despite its flaws, at least in my opinion, it is very worthy of display. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

For sale is a very endearing 19th century scissor cut valentine or love token that has been in my collection for a few years. It is rather naively done, with the main design being a circle of hearts with writing in sepia ink. It is in English, but much of it is rather hard to decipher, but 2 of the hearts say "This is a heart", and the center says "Here I goe around the ring that has no end". The piece has been placed on a black background, and housed in an appropriate, but fairly modern gold frame. The painting is housed in an appropriate, but fairly recent wood veneer frame, probably from the 1980's-90's, and is behind a double mat. The framed painting measures about 10" square, with sight measurements of 4 3/4" square. It is in very nice antique condition, with some toning and a few small brown spots at the top, but it displays very nicely. The paper backing is a new replacement. For sale is a fabulous antique late 19th century handmade fan quilt that I acquired from a sale in Pennsylvania, and that I'm sure was made there as well. The quilt measures about 72" x 70", and is in near mint condition, with no holes, rips, stains, or repairs. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions, or for additional photos.

The quilt is filled with cotton batting, and the back is a sort of blue and brown plaid cotton. It measures about 80" x 79", and is in nice antique condition, possibly unused, although there is an area of brown staining on the back, and there is edge wear, not all the way around, but in some areas of the binding. For sale is a wonderful antique 19th century folk art pantry/bandbox that I found in Ohio, but that was made in Pennsylvania. It is constructed with splints and wooden pegs. On both the lid and sides, there is a very stereotypical PA. Dutch style design of red tulips with yellow centers, and almost comma shaped leaves on the lid. The box measures about 17 1/2" long, 8 1/2" wide, and 5 3/4" tall, and is in nice but antique condition, with a dark aged patina, an area of missing wood on the top, as well as expected wear around the edges on both the lid and box. There is what looks like a crack on the lid, but I believe that 2 pieces of wood were used in its construction, as when you look on the inside, the line is very straight, and the grain doesn't quite match. In addition, there have been a few areas where nails have been added for reinforcement. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions.
