This painted lathe turned mortar and pestle measures 14 1/2 inches to the top of the pestle when placed in the mortar. The mortar measures 7 3/4 inches to the top of the rim and retains its original red/brown paint. You will notice a small area just under the rim, rest assured this is not a crack. This early mortar and pestle hails from Alabama and makes a great statement.
