This is a nicely lathe turned mortar that measures 7 1/2 " H. by a diameter of 6 1/2". I believe the wood is walnut and has traces of red paint around the circumference. There are a few hair line cracks, The pestle is maple and measures 12 1/2 " long and is nicely turned. You will notice on the bottom of the mortar a material I can't identify but believe it is there to fill a crack. This is quite heavy. More pics available...
