Small Decorated Tole Oval Box w/Handle

This small, decorated toleware oval box with handle measures 3” by 2” and with the handle up-straight, it is 3” tall. The floral decoration on the sides is done in red, green and yellow and there is very faint decoration on the lid. The lid fits snugly and the handle swings freely. The overall condition is fine to very fine with the expected wear/rubbing to the paint, but no dents, splits, cracks, etc. Not sure what its purpose was, but its been on my shelf for 30+ years.
