**1796 Sgnd. Silhouette of Woman w/Acorn Hanger

For sale is a wonderful and early antique silhouette of a woman that I acquired in Utah from a private collection. I believe that it is a painted piece, and is signed "Lajour" along with the year 1796. I believe it is housed in its original black painted frame with beveled glass, as well as a terrific acorn hanger at the top. The piece measures about 6 3/4" x 5 3/8" with sight measurements of 3 3/8" x 2 3/4". It is in nice antique condition, with signs of age including minor paint wear as well as pitting and rust on the hanger, but it displays very well. The backing is old, if not original, and there are visible remnants of newspaper. Please look carefully at the pictures, and contact me with any questions or for additional photos.
