**Antique Silhouette of Woman in Eglomise Frame

For sale is a wonderful antique 19th century folk art cut and painted silhouette of a rather matronly woman that I acquired on a recent trip to the Midwest, East Coast, and New England. It is housed in what I believe is its original lemon gilt frame with the original eglomise glass that forms an oval around the image and has a rose in each corner. The original wire loop hanger is also still present. The framed piece measures about 5" x 4 1/4" with sight measurements of3 3/4" x 3". The image itself is about 3" x 1 1/4". It is in nice antique condition with a bit of wear on the eglomise design, as well as a crease in the glass when from when it was made. The frame shows expected age appropriate wear. In addition, the silhouette was removed from the frame for examination, and acid free cardboard was added before replacing the paper backing.
