For sale is a charming antique19th century folk art silhouette that I acquired on a recent trip to the Midwest, East Coast, and New England. It is a painted piece, completed in brown, black, and gray, and depicts a young child holding a basket of roses in one hand, and a sprig of roses in the other. There is a swagged curtain behind her, and the piece is housed in a period, most likely original oval frame with a metal loop hanger. The framed silhouette measures about 7 1/4" tall and 6 1/4" wide, and is in very nice antique condition, with no significant issues. It should be noted that it was removed from the frame for examination, and acid free cardboard was added, as well as a new paper backing.
