18th century American hand forged iron curling iron. Made in two halves riveted together with an iron rivet. Likely used for hair or wigs. Measures 12 7/8 inches long ~ opens and closes easily. An old collection tag now gone, noted this piece was from the Wiggins Tavern Hotel, No Hampton, Mass.” In excellent condition.
